I am Burak Çevik. In 2017, in the city where I was born and raised; Istanbul; I founded Fol Films. At first, I only wished to direct my own film; yet, fumbling my way forward, I began producing. Soon after, I found myself helping friends who were wandering through the same terrain. Over time, I realized that producing is less a duty than a chance; an encounter with people I admire; to share work with those whose company I cherish. I believe cinema is a quest; playing in a field shaped by questions too vast to be answered. I believe there is an invisible thread between how a film is made and the work it ultimately becomes. For this reason, with every film I seek to reshape; to play; to test the practice of filmmaking anew. I am drawn not to works that solve like equations; but to those born of searching; even at the risk of never finding. These are the journeys I hope to accompany; and this, in its entirety, is the purpose of Fol Films.
